Lazy Sunday

It's been a dreary couple of days here in PA.  Does't help with an already dark mood.  So I decided to do some coloring, and play along with CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #129.

Seemed simple enough right?

Well, I had another design in mind that I started playing with last night.  Took me 5 attempts to get it right.  When it was finally done and I was staring at it I decided I wasn't going to upload it for this challenge since I wasn't completely happy.  Then this Tiddly Inks Image popped into my brain and I knew IT was the perfect one for this sketch!  This card I was able to complete on my FIRST attempt and I was quite happy with the result!

The sentiment is right!  Hang in there!

Celebrate

For today's card I decided to play with Sweet Sunday's Sketch Challenge #274.  I loved the simple design of this sketch!  The possibilities were endless.

I originally thought I was going to use a flower as the accent piece instead of the star and use some nice floral paper.  As you can see, that's NOT how it turned out!  After looking through my papers I decided I needed to make a more masculine card.  Patriotic themed paper is always appropriate for the men in your life.  Still thinking I was going to use a circle accents, I searched through my stamps and my embellishments. I found a package of star and gem Christmas ornament stickers from Jolee's Boutique.  It was my lucky day.   To pick up on the gold accent of the star, I gold embossed the cardstock beneath the pattern paper.  Added banner and voila', the perfect male card!

Happy Summer

What better way to celebrate the first day of summer than with......a Christmas Card?!

Since I'm playing in The Daily Marker's 30 Day Color Challenge 2 I've been searching through my digital and clear stamps in order to find fun images that inspire me to color.  While searching, I came across this caroling cutie by Tiddly Inks and, even though it's June, decided to color her. Did I ever mention that I have a Tiddly Inks obsession?  Anyway, since she came out so cute, she HAD to go immediately onto a card.  the Music Border Die I picked up on clearance at C.C. Designs was the perfect accent for this card.

Have a Merry Summer!

Love is....

I decided to play along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge this week.  Sketch #273 has a nice big panel on it which I though would be perfect to do some stamping on!  So I dusted off this old Stampin' Up stamp set, got my stamp positioner out and started stamping.  Love the bright, happy colors in the American Crafts #Summer paper pad and felt it perfect for this card.  Some sequins from Close to My Heart finishes it up!

So it's been awhile.....

The end of the school year is always hectic in this house.  This year was even more hectic as my son prepared for graduation.  There was prom, finals and graduation activities to get ready for.  My head was spinning and so were my emotions.  Then, exactly a week before graduation, I tore a hamstring in my leg that left me in pain and incapacitated for quite a few days.  Somehow I managed to keep my emotions in check and hobbled my way through the graduation activities this past Saturday.

So, the timing for Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Challenge and I dove right in.  It's perfect therapy for the frazzled mom and helps keep my mind of the fact that he's leaving for college in just two months. And for my leg as I can sit at the table with my leg up and color away!

For the second day of this challenge, I decided to go WAY out of my comfort zone  and not only color some images, but to create my own background with my Spectrum Noir Markers as well.  Of course since it's summer, I used images from Tiddly Inks; Wryn's Beach Bonanza.  The "Life's a Beach" sentiment from Art Impressions Clear Stamp set Beach Babes.

Now if I could only find a Pina Colada and a Cabana Boy I'd be set for the summer!
