The end of the school year is always hectic in this house. This year was even more hectic as my son prepared for graduation. There was prom, finals and graduation activities to get ready for. My head was spinning and so were my emotions. Then, exactly a week before graduation, I tore a hamstring in my leg that left me in pain and incapacitated for quite a few days. Somehow I managed to keep my emotions in check and hobbled my way through the graduation activities this past Saturday.
So, the timing for Kathy Racoosin's
30 Day Challenge and I dove right in. It's perfect therapy for the frazzled mom and helps keep my mind of the fact that he's leaving for college in just two months. And for my leg as I can sit at the table with my leg up and color away!
For the second day of this challenge, I decided to go WAY out of my comfort zone and not only color some images, but to create my own background with my Spectrum Noir Markers as well. Of course since it's summer, I used images from Tiddly Inks;
Wryn's Beach Bonanza. The "Life's a Beach" sentiment from Art Impressions Clear Stamp set
Beach Babes.
Now if I could only find a Pina Colada and a Cabana Boy I'd be set for the summer!
