Stinkin' cute!

Who couldn't help but love Penny Black stamps? There is something for everyone. From the stinkin' cute to the more traditional, there is something for all tastes.  I tend to gravitate towards stinkin' cute myelf, like this stamp I got from Michaels.  The American Crafts Christmas Glitter paper was the perfect back drop for this adorable image.  The sentiment is from Close to My Heart's  Perfect Fit Holidays stamp set.  I added some Diamond Stickles on her dress to match the glittery background which added the perfect touch to such a sweet card!  Hope you enjoy.

Christmas Magic

Christmas is such a magical time of year.  I love to see the wonder in children's eyes as they visit with Santa, bake cookies for Santa's big night.  So fun, so innocent and so, well, magical!

This image from Stampendous captures the magic of Christmas perfectly.  Once again I colored the little elf with my Spectrum Noir markers and added some bling to the white areas of his hat and coat with Stickles.  I mounted the transparent K&Company sentiment on two 1 1/4 inch circles to mimic the circles on the pattern paper and the image and of course, added some ribbon.

Simply magical if I do say so myself.

Addicted

Since this is my third Cas(e) this Sketch Challenge creation, I guess I am officially addicted!  As soon as I saw this sketch, I KNEW what I was giong to do.

First thing I did was to use my Spellbinder die and cut a hole in the front of this pretty blue cardstock.  I've had this cardstock in my stash for YEARS, I think it's from Club Scrap.  I used a lighter blue cardstock and my Spellbinder die again to make a window.  Then I cut a strip of white glitter paper that I put through my Cuttlebug with the same die as the window it would fit nicely on the front of the card.  I found silver snowflake stickers in my stack and I stuck them together with a thin piece of ribbon so I could suspend the snowflake from the window.  I added bling to the snowflake and the rest of my card with my I-rock and embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder.  I am very happy with the final product and had a great time creating it.  Can't wait for the next sketch!!

Purr-fectly Joyful

When I saw this cute stamp by Stampendous at Michaels I knew I had to have it! Just too stinkin' cute, and since I am owned by two cats it was just a given that I would need it for my stamp collection.

I decided to color the kitty grey in honor of my Odie who I adopted 6 weeks ago.  I can so see him and my other cat Orion playing with our Christmas lights!  It should make for an interesting holiday!   It was only natural to wrap some twine around the card since it's the ultimate "cat toy".  Such a joyful card.  Hope it makes you smile as much as it does me!

Enjoy.

Christmas Cas(e)ing

Today I tried my hand at another card from Case(e) this sketch.

When I saw the sketch, I thought it was perfect for me since I'm pretty much a gal who likes clean lines (no “shabby chic” coming from this chick!)  As soon as I started the card, I knew I was wrong.  The graphic lines were definitely challenging for me (isn't that the point of a challenge?) I think the papers I chose might have contributed to the difficulty, but in the end, I was happy with the results.

Shimmer!

Christmas time always makes me think if lots of shimmer.  Between the twinkling lights, the iridescent snow, and the glistening garland, there’s always lots of sparkle to this magical season!

Today’s card features LOTS of sparkle.  The image is an from an old Stampin’ Up set that features this whimsical cow adorned for various holidays and occasions.  I colored him with alcohol markers and added some diamond stickles.  The trees I cut from a Recollections paper pack I purchased last year (Jolly Jamboree).  Added more sparkle with some bling on the tree, more stickles on the background and then it was complete.  Hope I made you smile today!

Inspriation

I was in a funk yesterday, looking at my mass of supplies, and unable to find any inspiration in the plethora of (s)crap on my desk.  So I poked around and came across a card challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch.

What a clean and simple sketch!  And since I LOVE a good challenge, I rifled through my stash, picked out some papers and came up with this.

Nothing like a good challenge to get your mojo rolling!  Check out CAS(E) this Sketch and see if you can get inspired.

Holy Scrap! Christmas is Coming!

Every time I log onto Facebook I am bombarded with posts that remind me just how close Christmas is. Really?  Do I need to be reminded?  I have enough anxiety in my life!

So in the hustle and bustle of life around us, today's card contains one simple word, one word that I am going to repeat over and over to myself in order to survive the season.  That one word?  Peace.  Definition of peace is - freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.  I think it's something that we all need in our lives, not just during the holidays, but all year round!

Enjoy this peaceful moment brought to you by me!
