Snowmageddon is a BUST!

Well, the meteorologists got it all wrong, and we didn't get NEARLY as much snow as they had predicted.  But I'm glad they were wrong anyway!

So I made this quick and easy card to play along with Cas(e) this Sketch # 107. I loved this sketch and pretty much knew right away what I was going to do.

I used used an embossing folder to emboss about 80 percent of the card, leaving the top smooth which I then stamped with my Newton's Nook Designs Winged Wishes (love this stamp set!) A little simple coloring and a thin strip of pattern paper and it's done.  So simple, yet so elegant!

Thanks for visiting!

Winter Wonderland

It's a quiet Sunday here in NEPA, but not for long!  Snow is supposed to move in tonight and not leave until sometime on Tuesday.  Is it spring yet?

Speaking of winter, that was the theme for this month's Tiddly Ink's Challenge. I decided to play along this month.  I decided to us Tiddly Ink's Skating By Clear Stamp Set for my card.  I started with a piece of water color paper that I colored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean, and Seedless Preserves).  Once I got the colors mixed the way I wanted, I decided to add some shimmer, so I colored the entire background with my Wink of Stella.  I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers, trimmed her out and added some Stickles to her hat and coat.  A couple scattered rhinestones for some more shimmer makes this card complete.

And yes, I did photograph the card out in the snow!  As I was setting up the picture my daughter waked by and said...."OOOOOOOHHH  ARTSY"!

Looks like I'll have plenty of time to sit at my desk and play starting tomorrow afternoon.  Wonder what I should do!

Playing with Sami Stamps

Decided to play with Sketch #41 over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Loved the large focal point of this sketch.  Since the challenge was being sponsored by Sami Stamps  I decided to go on over and check out the selection of digital stamps.  Well, that was my first mistake!  There are so many great images it took a LONG time for me to decide what I wanted to play with.  I finally decided on this adorable Kitten Heart image. Of course I had to color him grey like my Odie!  As with the last card I made, I repurposed some Christmas papers I had in my stash.  Love how cute this turned out!  So did my 13 year old daughter who asked if she could have it to give to someone this Valentine's Day! HMMMMM...better not tell her dad!!

TGIF!

Last week I visited the Stamping Bella website and decided I was going to try to play along with their Bellarific Friday challenge.  The challenge was a sketch challenge and it definitely worked with this adorable Seniorita Wanda stamp set I had.

Although I didn't actually get the card completed in time to participate in the challenge, I was quite happy with the way it turned out.  I thought the pattern papers from the Hampton Art's Peace and Butterflies paper pad were perfect for this image!

Now go give a big wet kiss to those you love!

Merry Valentine's Day

I sat at my desk the other day and decided I probably should make a Valentine's Day card.  Well, believe it or not, I don't have many Valentine's Day stamps.  Just one of those holidays that doesn't get celebrated much in this house.

So, I perused my stamp sets and came across my Flaky Family set by Newton's Nook.  I thought the cute little dog and cat would make the perfect couple!

So I stamped all the images onto white card stock and colored them with my markers. I made sure I used red and black on the little dog's hat and the kitty's scarf, and of course added some shimmer with my Wink of Stella.  Looks like they are on a formal Valentine's Day date doesn't it?

The paper and ribbon were from my stash and I used an Inkadinkado sentiment.

Now go tell someone that you love them.  Life is too short and you never know what tomorrow will bring.  Love you all!
