Untraditional Love

Who says Valentine's Day has to be pink and red?  I certainly don't!

I purposely chose non-traditional colors for this card.  I think it’s perfect for Valentine's Day or a Bridal Shower, or just because.  The clouds, hearts and umbrella are all wood veneer shapes I had in my stash.  And because I like to torture myself, I put glue on each individual piece and then put Martha Stewart glitter on each of them!  Then I had to patiently wait overnight for them to dry before I could assemble the card.  Again I chose light, colorful, and cheery colors for my background. I am pretty happy with the end result!

Celebrate

It's another cold, dreary SNOWY day in Northeastern PA.  To say I'm tired of the snow would put it mildly.  I desperately need a dose of vitamin D!

As I sat unmotivated and cold at my desk, I decided the only thing to help get me out of the funk was to create.  So I headed over to CAS(E) this Sketch to see what this week's challenge was and see if it would spark something in my snow filled brain.  Well, I'm glad to say, it did.  Here is the sketch that inspired me.

I got off my unmotivated butt and searched through my stamps to see what I thought would be appropriate.  I found this fun little candle image and I started to smile.  I immediately gravitated to my DCWV Citrus Matstack and picked out some bright, colorful paper.  I could feel my mood lighten and actually found myself humming a bit as I grabbed my Spectrum Noir markers and colored the image.  A little sparkle on the flames with my Stickles and I was warm and happy again!

Kitty Love!

As soon as I saw THIS stamp set on Simon Says Stamp I knew I had to have it.  First of all, it's just too stinkin' cute, second of all, the image reminds me of my two kitties!  So I had to color them like my babies, Orion and Odie!  Since my babies both have white furry bellies, I used white flock on the image.  So cute! Of course my favorite part are the googly eyes!

Remarkable Love

Made another Valentine's card today.  All this lovey-dovey scrap is.....well.....never mind.

Played with CTMH's Remarkable Wreath stamp set again.  I played with this awhile back for Christmas.  I LOVE this set.  So versatile.  You can pick it up from my favorite Close to My Heart consultant here.

Speaking of CTMH, they have a great card design program called Wishes.  I based this card on one of the designs in this book.  You can get this book here.  I love to just thumb through this book, especially when I am going through a creative slump.  Such great ideas and inspiration.

Loads of Love

Another LOVE-ly card for you today!  Again, I used stamps from Newton’s Nook Designs.  I used two stamp sets actually, Wagons of Wishes and the same set I used yesterday, Winged Wishes.  While in the midst of my reorganization, I came across some VERY old craft punches from Provo Craft.  I used that to cut out all the little hearts, and then I individually glued them onto the card (why yes, I am crazy).  Little glitz and glimmer from my Stickles makes the whole card shine!

Love is....

Love is simple.  Well, not really, it is complicated.  But I decided on a simple design for this Valentine's Day card.

The stamps are from Newton's Nook Designs' stamp set called Winged Wishes.  Such a cute and versatile stamp set. You can get it from Newton's Nook here.  She has such cute, whimsical stamps, kinda' like me!  Well, I'm not a stamp, but I'm cute and whimsical....kind of!

Organizing my scrap space continues to be a SLOW, agonizing process, but it's getting there.  I am determined to get at least 90% of it completed by the end of this month!  I have so much more to create..I need to get this done!

Reorganizing is for the birds..and the cats!

I don't make New Year’s resolutions. Never have.  But I do make promises to myself. This year I promised myself I would create more.  In that vein, I decided to undergo some major purging and reorganization.  It's a slow, agonizing process that is for sure!  But I am POSITIVE I can be more creative if I can just get this "scrap" cleaned up and organized.

I bought a shelving unit yesterday and my husband and I spent some time this morning putting it together. I didn't get too far when THIS happened!

silly kitty!

Well, at least I know my efforts are kitty approved!!
